Amagi Aria, an elegant resort in Negombo

Amagi Hotels has announced a brand new look for its Negombo property, located alongside the Negombo lagoon, close to the ocean.

The hotel, previously known as Amagi Lagoon Resort and Spa, has been given a makeover. The new Amagi Aria also includes a brand new seven-storey wing comprising 43 tastefully-designed deluxe rooms and four luxury suites in addition to the already-existing 21 standard rooms. This brings to 68 the total number of guestrooms, which are completed with modern amenities. They all offer stunning views. The new look also extends to the fine-dining seafood restaurant called Moya, which creates a unique private dining experience. Moya Seafood Restaurant, located on the rooftop of Amagi Aria, is wrapped in floor-to-ceiling windows that offer diners panoramic views of the Negombo lagoon and its fauna. The restaurant seats around 110 guests and features a live kitchen, seafood display and bar. The setting is a refined, relaxed space for guests to enjoy expertly-created beverages. The freshest seafood is prepared to perfection, providing a total seafood experience.

“Our efforts take a long-term aim at showcasing the values and inimitability of our wonderful island to the world, through our service and vision of becoming the most preferred hotel brand for locals and foreigners alike,” stated Somanathan Ganeshanathan, Chairman, Amagi Hotels.

“The introduction of the new wing with its higher room categories, the upgrade and quality standards of the hotel as well as the positioning of a value-based hotel within the four-star market in Negombo are factors for the rebranding,” said Renuke Coswatte, GM Marketing and Operations, Amagi Hotels.
