A series of Breitling gents’ watches

Swiss luxury watchmaker Breitling enters the Sri Lankan market in partnership with Colombo Jewellery Stores (CJS). The latest selection of Breitling models will be housed at the flagship store of CJS at Alfred House Gardens.

A specialist in technical watches, Breitling has played a crucial role in the development of the wrist chronograph and is a leader in this field. It is also one of the world’s major watch brands that equips all its models with chronometer-certified movements, a mark of precision and reliability.

The brand was founded in 1884 by Léon Breitling. In 1915, Breitling indicated the emergence of the wrist chronograph by inventing the first independent push-piece. In 1923, it separated the start/stop functions from zero resetting, thereby making it possible to add several successive times without returning the hands to zero. This feature is highly beneficial in timing sports competitions and calculating flight times. In 1934, it set the final touch to the modern face of the chronograph by creating the second independent reset push-piece. In 1969, it heralded a new era by presenting the first self-winding chronograph movement. Since 2009 Breitling has been developing and manufacturing mechanical chronograph movements at its own workshop.

Long associated with the world of aviation, the brand is committed to quality and it designs products that withstand intensive use in the most rigorous conditions. Breitling’s on-board chronographs equipped World War II fighter planes and, later, the aircrafts of the world’s major airplane manufacturers and airline companies. Thus earning the status of ‘official supplier to world aviation’.

Breitling has also redesigned its Superocean Héritage line dedicated to modern-day explorers. Superocean professional diving watch was rapidly adopted by the first enthusiasts of leisure diving. Superocean Héritage II is available in the two sizes of  42 mm and 46 mm, and as a 46 mm chronograph. All models are available in three colours: black, blue and bronze.
