The luxury tented chalets were declared open by His Excellency Eric Lavertu, Ambassador of France to Sri Lanka and the Maldives. Built with sustainable tourism development, the project features new typical tourism trends such as Agri Tourism, Wild Life Tourism, Ethnic tourism and Eco-Cultural tourism. The property has focused on the triple bottom line of People, Planet, and Profits through each of these.

The propertyís various green and sustainable initiatives include the excellent practice of organic agriculture with drip irrigation systems; inhouse composting and traditional farming practices; direct power generation by the usage of individual solar panels for chalets and public areas; recycling of gray water generated from the property and reusing it for water closet flushing; use of eco-friendly designs to maximize the use of natural light and ventilation; use of earth bricks, clay, illuk grass, cajan and other materials outsourced from the locality for building construction; promotion of the indigenous culture of the Rathugala, Danigala Adivasi community; provision of employment opportunities to those in the immediate vicinity; and promotion of unknown cultural/archeological sites such as Rajagala.

Wild Glamping Gal Oya is nestled in a rural, underprivileged area home to Sri Lankaís indigenous Vedda community. In its efforts to develop people in the area, the property has employed 95 percent of the required staff from these neighboring indigenous communities. They have been given the opportunity to get involved in the projectís construction stages then thereafter in agricultural land development, which leads to boosting the local economy. In addition to that, the region is popular for its wildlife famous boat rides on Senanayake Samudraya, which is a prominent place to spot elephants. Some of the other experiences include Jeep Safaris to Nilgala or Hathpotha Treks into the jungles of Rathugala and Nilgala and visiting archaeological temples like Rajagala.
